To help new undergraduate psychology majors feel welcome and part of the department, we implemented a peer-mentoring program at a small liberal arts college. Though some features of our mentoring program are structured, we encouraged participants to develop rapport on their own terms. We designed several events throughout the academic year to cultivate the mentor-student relationship and to strengthen new students' sense of belonging to the department. Both mentors and new students reported positively on the mentoring experience. © NAJP.
