Tóm tắt

Using qualitative methods, we explore how faculty, administrators and students at a liberal arts college understand the mission of liberal education and its relationship to their institutional goals for multicultural community. Data collected from semistructured interviews suggests that the traditional liberal educational mission of this college - as conceptualized by its faculty and leadership - thwarts the development of multicultural communal aims.
