The geology faculty at Skidmore College take a multifaceted approach to career advising. Our approach has five parts: a student-faculty group discussion known as "The Dick and John Show," an internship program, student research projects, an active relationship with our alumnae/i, and activities related to the geology major. Every facet of students' job searches must be precise and must differentiate their job applications from all others. They must approach the job search in such a way that their preparation makes them a clear candidate for the job, their approach is directed correctly, and their qualifications are obvious. If they put the energy into the search that it requires, they are successful with our formula.
