Tóm tắt

The author asserts that the "faculty culture" lags the emergence not only of the technology, but as well of the growing body of educational research on the environments, methods, and programmatic frameworks which enhance student learning. He also asserts that there must be broader recognition of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields as new "liberal arts", required as part of the basic education of all. He offers specific recommendations for enhanced Federal policy options and actions to address these and other concerns.
