Continuing education as a strategy for the small private college

My focus is the small private college, two-year and four-year institutions which enroll fewer than 1 ,000 students, are almost entirely undergraduate, have traditionally emphasized the liberal arts in their curricula, and in many cases are related to a religious organization of some type. Since all of my experience in higher education administration has been in two such colleges, I am naturally concerned with them. This group of colleges includes most of the Catholic institutions, most of the Protestant ones, most of the Black colleges, and most of the single-sex colleges of the country.
