Tóm tắt

The purpose of this paper is to determine whether community college instructors are using more innovative teaching methods in their classrooms than are their counterparts in the universities. The paper is based on a nationwide survey of social science community college, liberal arts college, and university instructors. The survey was conducted during the spring of 1976 and questioned instructors concerning the types of teaching methods that they used. The results of the survey demonstrated that there were few statistical differences in the use of innovative methods between these instructors. The paper explores organizational theory in an effort to explain the demonstrated lack of innovation in teaching methods. © 1978 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
