A questionnaire administered to a random sample of students attending liberal arts classes at Howard University on the first day after settlement of the 1968 strike revealed (1) a pattern of high agreement on academic grievance items, (2) relatively moderate support for the tactics used in the protest, and (3) lesser consensus on the black identity items. The authors review the 1968 findings and assess developments at Howard University a year later. © 1970 by Columbia University Press.
