Faculty, students, and administrators were Ss in a study of value commitment in a small liberal arts college. The study examined the relationship between structural position and degree of organizational participation and commitment to organizational values. Data indicated that value commitment is related to rank, function, and degree of organizational participation. Faculty at lower ranks tended to be more highly committed than faculty at upper ranks and nonparticipating students tended to be less committed than student leaders. © 1972 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
