During orientation week, 170 freshmen from a woman's liberal arts college were administered the CPI. At the end of the academic year, quality point ratios (QPR) for the 154 freshmen who remained were correlated with each of the 18 scales of the CPI and also with CEEB-SAT scores. Ten CPI scales (Do, Cs, Sy, Sa, Re, Ac, Ai, Ie, and Fe) were found to correlate significantly, between 16 and 26, with QPR. The possibility of improvement of prediction of academic achievement by use of CPI scales in combination with CEEB-SAT scores was indicated. © 1964, Sage Publications. All rights reserved.
