On the basis of ACE scores and reading scores, 288 candidates for the Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Miami were compared with students enrolled in the schools of Science, Liberal Arts, Business Administration, and Education. The music students were superior only to those in the School of Education. A high correlation between reading ability and intelligence scores was found for all groups, and some possible implications of this relationship are discussed.
